A study focusing on rising suicide rates among adults ages 25 to 64 compared the number of suicides in U.S. counties to the expected number of suicides, based on a statistical analysis. In some counties in northeastern Pennsylvania, suicides in the 2014-16 time period were twice as high as expected. Suicides in most North Jersey counties were 1% to 40% lower than expected.
