Across LEAs, teachers use various metrics in their evaluations of EL students for reclassification

NOTES: Each dot represents the share of LEAs that indicate that teachers use a specific metric. Dots may overlap in the chart. About 63 percent of all grade spans use participation as a metric for teacher evaluations. About 90 percent of districts serving K–8 use grades as a metric, 66 percent of districts serving K–5 use conferences, and about 41 percent of districts serving grades 3–8 use homework. We applied post-stratification weights as the inverse of predicted probabilities of survey response based on a list of characteristics. See Technical Appendix for additional details. Respondents may select more than one metric for teacher evaluations in the survey question.
