Funding through Proposition 98, the formula that determines the portion of the General Fund that goes to K-12 schools and community colleges, would reach a record $110.3 billion in 2022-23 under Gov. Newsom’s proposed May budget revision. Actual revenue for 2021-22 has increased significantly beyond the level the Legislature approved in June.
