Majority of projected property tax revenue from CyrusOne data center project would go to Macoupin County

Sangamon County's assessment of projected tax revenue shows the Macoupin-based North Mac School District receiving more than seven times the revenue the County Board expects to receive. The assessment also shows dramatic year-over-year rises in expected revenue.

Limited, if any, sales tax receipts will be generated from the project due to CyrusOne securing a 20-year tax break with the state prior to Gov. JB Pritzker's pause of the program went into effect.
