Cost of pensions to the budget in % of gross pay of elected representatives or civil servants

Thanks to group investment plans, Senators’ pensions cost taxpayers far less, with the bulk of payment coming from financial markets rather than the budget.

To finance pensions in 2022, the budget had to provide 140% of MPs’ gross salaries, 137% and 85% of the salaries of military personnel or civil servants, respectively, and only 45% of senators’ gross pay.
