Residents of shrinking places may be less likely to support immigration, despite recognizing challenges associated with population loss.

Regressions on whether the resident's county gained population (=1) between 2010-2020 on whether they agreed with the following statements.

Coefficients for revitalizing local economies and the border wall are not statistically significant. Support for high-skilled immigration and immigrants in industries with labor shortages, remain statistically significant when including controls for political affiliation, urban/rural status, gender, and education. Support for immigrant entrepreneurs is statistically significant with political affiliation controls.
