Teacher vacancies in central Virginia decrease for three consecutive years

New data from the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) shows that the 2025-26 school year has started with more teachers in the classroom compared to the previous years. In central Virginia, the vacancy rate dropped from 5.6% in 2023-24 to 4.1% in 2025-26.
