CPS Energy's power generation mix has grown substantially since 1945, from 51 megawatts to nearly 8,000 megawatts in 2016, enough power for 1.6 million homes on a hot Texas summer day. Over the years CPS has diversified its power mix to include coal, nuclear, and renewables, in addition to natural gas.
