The factory wage bill refers to aggregate wages and salaries paid by factories, as reported by ASI. *Wages paid by non-financial services firms refer to their total employee costs, as reported by CMIE. CPI-IW has been used as to deflate the nominal values in both these series. Average rural wages (men) are based on the adjusted rural wage series reported by CMIE based on labour bureau data, and have been deflated using CPI-RL. **Average wages for informal and salaried workers are as reported by a Jan 2020 IHD working paper by Ravi Srivastava and Balakrushna Padhi based on an analysis of NSS data for the 2004-11 and 2011-18 periods.
