INDICATOR: Well-being of students in primary and lower secondary school

Distribution of respondents in primary and lower secondary school on the WHO-5 Well-being Index for LGBT+-students and other students. 2023.

The WHO-5 well-being index consists of five questions where students are asked to respond to how they have felt during the last two weeks. The questions are answered on a 6-point Likert scale, ranging from 'all of the time (0)' to 'at no time (5)', which is then calculated into a total score ranging from 0-25. Included questions: "... I have been happy and in good spirits.", "... I have felt calm and relaxed.", "... I have felt active and energetic.", "... I have woken up fresh and rested.", "... my daily life has been filled with things that interest me." The distributions for LGBT+ students are significantly different from the distribution for non-LGBT+ students (p < 0.001). Number of observations: 4,596.
