The price of a dozen eggs may have peaked for now, but eggs are still nearly 50% more expensive than they were a year ago.
This chart shows average prices for a dozen eggs in the U.S. since April 2024, when prices were less than $4. Prices peaked at $6.55 in mid-March and have declined since then, to $5.45 as of the week ending April 19.
