U.S. Adults' Reports of Delaying Treatment for Serious vs. Nonserious Condition, 2001-2022
Was the delay in treatment for a condition or illness that was very serious, somewhat serious, not very serious or not at all serious?

Percentages of Americans since 2001 who say they or a family member have put off medical treatment within twelve months for a serious or not serious or a not very or not at all serious condition due to the cost the would have to pay. The latest readings, from a Nov. 9 to Dec. 2, 2022 Gallup poll, found a record high 27% say they have put off treatment for a serious condition and 11% for a non-serious condition.
