Hundreds of drink/drug driving arrests were made during the 2023 and 2024 festive periods - with half leading to charges

Data obtained from West Midlands Police's Freedom of Information team showed a small decline in both arrests and charges made relating to drink/drug driving offences in the region when comparing December 2023 and December 2024. But the number of charges largely remained consistent.
