The lastest Greenhouse Gas Inventory, conducted by Louisiana State University, found that the state emitted 217 million metric tons in 2018, with two-thirds produced by the Industrial sector which are notoriously difficult to reduce. Nationally, industry accounts for 17% of greenhouse gas emissions.
