This table ranks the 10 states with the highest estimated guest weekend costs and the 10 with the lowest nationwide. Estimates are based on a sample guest basket that includes dining, drinks, and a taxi ride. Rankings are based on estimated guest weekend costs, with lower-cost states ranked separately from higher-cost states. The rankings apply to this category only.

¹ Est. Guest Weekend Cost is based on a sample guest basket: one casual meal, half of a mid-range dinner for two, one beer, a quarter bottle of wine, and a roughly 3-mile taxi ride at the local rate.
² Highest-Cost City is the city within that state’s analyzed city sample with the highest value for the relevant benchmark.
