Fatal Crashes Involving Unsafe Passing Violations, 2020–2024

From 2020 to 2024, there were 297 fatalities across 40 states involving drivers charged with “Improper, Unsafe Passing” or “Passing on the Right” (driving off the pavement to pass). The year 2021 had the highest number, with 74 fatalities.
