$50 million Mississippi Works Training Fund spending 2016-March 2020

In 2016, former Mississippi governor Phil Bryant asked the Legislature to create a $50 million, ten-year workforce training fund. Almost four years in, just one-tenth of the money had been used. Excluding a statewide tuition assistance program, just 20 percent of funds have gone to the western part of the state, including the Delta and the metro area, so far.
