New daily case numbers are calculated by taking the cumulative total of individuals testing positive on one day, and subtracting the previous day’s cumulative total. On June 11, 2021, the Florida Department of Health stopped publishing daily COVID-19 data updates, instead opting for weekly numbers. At the same time, the department excluded non-resident positive tests from their cumulative case count, artificially lowering the new daily case number to zero for one week.
