The number of people admitted to the hospital with a COVID-19 diagnosis during the 2023-24 respiratory illness season. The dates on the chart are for when each week in the season ended.

The 2023-24 respiratory illness season began Oct. 1, 2023, and will run through Sept. 27, 2024. Data collected after May 1, 2024 was done so on a voluntary basis to the CDC, as mandatory reporting ended on April 30.
