Hawaii Children with Dangerous Elevated Blood Lead Levels 

Hawaii County has the highest rate of elevated blood lead levels in the state, but more data and work is needed to understand why, health officials say. The percentage of children found to have elevated blood lead levels more than 5 micrograms per deciliter is on average around 1% statewide, but only about a quarter of all Hawaii children are tested.
