Each data point derived by subtracting Republican vote share from Democratic vote share for a particular faith tradition in a given year. The line at zero represents parity between the parties. Data points above the line favor Democrats, while those below the line favor Republicans. For each line, positive slopes indicate a trend favoring Democrats, while negative slopes indicate a shift towards Republicans.
