Tri-County deportations increase five-fold under 2nd Trump administration

Immigration arrests in Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties between Jan. 20 and Oct. 15, 2025 are quintuple that of the same period the previous year, according to federal data provided by ICE in response to a FOIA request to the Deportation Data Project and analyzed by The Post and Courier.

Note: Four arrests in 2025 were classified as occurring in the Charleston general area with no county or location specification. They are not included in the individual county totals but are included in the overall total for 2025.
