Switzerland – at the heart of Europe, outside the EU

Through the European Economic Area (EEA), the EU Member States and the EFTA members – Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway – regulate the free movement of people, goods, services and capital. Switzerland is also a member of EFTA, but remains outside the EEA and governs its relations with the EU through bilateral agreements.
