Demographics on the Schools Proposed for Closure

The 20 schools that are proposed for closure in the Philadelphia School District’s facilities master plan utilize less than a third of available space because of low enrollment. The affected students are disproportionately Black compared with other schools in the district, while white and Asian students are underrepresented.
