SNAP benefits Americans can get, with temporary boost

The U.S. government allocates the nutritional benefits formerly known as food stamps to households according to how many eligible members are in a family. The December 2020 pandemic relief package included a boost for the first half of 2021. President Biden aims to extend this increase through September. During normal times, the monthly allotment shown is the maximum available. But during the pandemic, all SNAP recipients are getting the maximum amount of benefits.

Households with more than eight eligible members can currently get $176 in additional benefits for each additional person. Without the boost, the additional per-person benefits are $153 per month.
