In 2025, all but 2 countries had eliminated cases of wild polio

Only Pakistan and Afghanistan are still working to eliminate type 1 wild polio. Germany, Poland and the U.K. detected polio in their sewage, but enough of the population is vaccinated to prevent the disease from spreading. The orange countries saw cases of vaccine-derived polio, meaning not enough children were vaccinated to prevent the disease from spreading. No polio at all was detected in the gray countries.
