Indiana overdose deaths by year
Indiana had the 10th worst overdose death rate per 100,000 residents in the nation for 2021. It dropped to 13th in 2022.
A bar graph shows Indiana's annual deaths from overdoses by year. In 2014, 1,172 Hoosiers died from an overdose. That grew to 2,811 Hoosiers in 2021. Preliminary data from the CDC suggests that has decreased in 2023. From 2014 to 2022, nearly 17,000 Hoosiers died as a result of an overdose.
