Strong Growth for Philadelphia’s Latino Residents

The growth in the cumulative number of Philadelphia’s Latino residents since 2000 has been the highest of any of the major racial or ethnic groups. The city’s Asian community has also grown, but the number of Black residents has fallen since 2020, and the white population has dropped sharply.

Note: Totals for Black, white, and Asian groups do not include residents of Latino ancestry, and do not include people of multiple races. Latinos can be of any race.
