Top CD Rates Since December 2021—As of Feb. 10, 2025

In late 2021, the top nationally available CD rates for terms of 6 months to 5 years ranged from 0.80% to 1.30% APY. After 11 Fed rate hikes in 2022–2023, the top rates surged as high as 6.00%. Now, however, CD rates are declining after three 2024 Fed rate cuts totaling 1.00 percentage point.
