All of the 21 expert submissions to the CLP’s proposed changes to the Domestic Violence Act warned that imposing mandatory sentencing for domestic violence order breaches would be expensive, not reduce crime and likely result in more women and children being harmed.
Yet this Legislative Scrutiny Committee chair Oly Carlson confirmed the CLP would push ahead with the controversial DVO legislation.
