Lower Merion Is the Second-Largest Municipality in the Pa. Suburbs

Lower Merion’s population grew by an average of 1.5% per year between 1930 and 1970, a rate that was eclipsed by each of the other nine suburban municipalities that are currently the largest in the region. After a long period of population decline, Lower Merion started to grow again in 2010, and recently passed Bensalem to become the region’s second-largest suburban municipality, behind Upper Darby.
