2024–2025 Annual Assessment of College-Level Competencies for the Chipola College General Education Program.
Chipola College assesses its General Education program across five areas using primary learning assessments (80% proficiency threshold), grade distributions (75% earning a C or better), and ETS Proficiency Profile scores (must exceed the national mean). Overall, Chipola met most standards in 2024–2025, with all ETS scores surpassing national means.
Social & Behavioral Sciences: Learning assessment results were mixed, with some sections meeting the 80% threshold and others falling short. Grade distributions (87.35%) and ETS score (111.5 vs. 111.2 national) met their standards.
Natural Sciences: Two of three sections met the proficiency standard; one narrowly missed at 79%. Grade distributions (91.49%) and ETS score (113.9 vs. 113.5 national) both exceeded benchmarks.
Mathematics: The most variable area — two of five sections met the threshold while three did not, with one as low as 52%. Despite this, grade distributions (82.37%) and ETS score (112.2 vs. 111.2 national) met their standards.
Communications: The strongest area. All five sections met proficiency (83–93%), grade distributions reached 84.63%, and Chipola exceeded national means on ETS Reading (116.0) and Writing (112.5). Gordon Rule and oral presentation requirements were confirmed as met.
Humanities: All four sections scored 93–94% on proficiency assessments, with grade distributions at 84.94% and an ETS score of 114.4 (vs. 112.8 national).
Critical Thinking (Additional Measure): ETS score of 110.7 exceeded the national mean of 109.7.
Mathematics course-level proficiency remains the primary area for continued improvement.
