The Francisco Morazán department saw the highest number of detentions for extortion during the Castro administration

Between 2022 and 2024, 1,436 people were detained in Francisco Morazán, 847 in Córtes, and 363 in Atlántida. Less than 100 people were detained in the remaining departments over a three-year period.
