Pa. charter school CEOs earn more per student than district school superintendents

Charter school leaders earn ($136 per student on average) more than twice as much as district school leaders ($57 per student on average).

For any charter school where the CEO was listed as the head of more than one school, the total enrollment of all the schools was combined. Enrollment and salary as of Oct. 1, 2024. Philadelphia's CEO had one of the lowest salaries per student at around $3 per student but was excluded because the enrollment in Philadelphia would make the chart harder to read: Philadelphia City's SD superintendent earned $367,710 for 120,148 students.
