CT's Chuckles and Beardsley Bart are among the nation's most accurate predictors on Groundhog Day

The chart shows the accuracy of various groundhog and predicting animals around the country. The data comes from groundhog-day.com.

The method used to calculate each animal's accuracy, which varies by analysis, is similar to the method used by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration when it analyzed Phil's predictions.

Chuckles and Beardsley rank among the top five most accurate predictors.

Note: Data is shown only for animals that made at least 10 predictions, according to the data source, and whose yearly prediction had temperature data for the state for the 100 previous years. That is why some animals are noted to have fewer predictions than the true total.
