Philadelphia's dramatic spike and dip in gun violence

Gun violence in Philly surged during the COVID-19 pandemic, with over 500 fatal shootings in 2021 alone. Those numbers have dropped significantly. As of late September 2024, there were 40% fewer fatal shootings compared to the same period in 2023.
