Rising energy prices affect the broader economy

Looking at costs in one month compared to the same month a year earlier, headline inflation, which includes all costs, has been rising since early 2025. Even when energy and food costs are taken out of consideration – to look at what's known as core inflation – prices of everything else are rising, too
