Oakland International High School is a specialized school for newcomer students. Four other OUSD high schools have newcomer student programs: three comprehensive high schools and one continuation school for students who are at risk of not graduating from high school. Graduation rates for the comprehensive high schools are averaged here. Newcomer students are foreign-born students in their first three years of U.S. schooling. Graduation and dropout rates do not add to 100% because graduation rates are tabulated over four years, and some students remain enrolled past year four.
