Mays vs. Aaron: Career home runs

Hank Aaron and Willie Mays played during the same era. Both were great power hitters but Aaron was more consistent over time. Following his rookie season, Mays served in the Korean War, and as a result only played a few games in 1952 and missed the entire 1953 season. He returned in 1954 during Aaron's rookie season and retired in 1973 with 660 home runs. Aaron reached 660 in 1972 and ended his career with 755 home runs.
