The manufacturing industry in the San Antonio-New Braunfels region lost more than 4,000 jobs at the beginning of the pandemic — marking a roughly 8% contraction. The industry recovered those losses earlier this year, even exceeding them in March, but job numbers have slid in recent months as production stalls.
