Colorado's new Colorado Overtime & Minimum Pay Standards, or COMPS, goes into effect March 16, 2020, and clarifies or updates how most workers in the state are paid. One group of workers -- those on a salary -- are exempt from overtime pay. But to avoid abuse, the new rules set a minimum pay amount that employers must meet in order to exempt the employee from overtime pay.
