The cities with the largest share of Black local elected officials saw steep declines in the Black population share.

Of the top 10 Bay Area cities with the most Black representation in local elected government, only three Eastern Contra Costa County cities (Antioch, Brentwood, and Lafayette) saw increases in the share of Black residents.
