New Seclusion and Restraint Data: Search for Your District

Public school districts and most special-education cooperatives are required to report their use of seclusion to the U.S. Department of Education. Enter a district's name below to see how many incidents it reported for the 2017-18 school year, as well as to see how the number of incidents changed from the last reporting period, in 2015-16.

Note: There are known flaws with the self-reported federal data; for example, some districts acknowledged that they had erroneously reported not using seclusion in previous years. Some districts also noted data errors for the most recent data collection.
