The data shows the typical energy bills amounts, per 1,000 kWh, for residential customers of investor-owned utilities compared to the median price of power for municipal- and nonprofit-operated utilities in Florida.

Notes: The data shows typical electric bill amounts reported annually by the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC). This graphic shows bill amounts, per 1,000 kWh, that include rates and cost recovery clause factors but exclude local and state taxes and franchise fees. Typical bill amounts, by year, are included for all four investor-owned utilities (Florida Power & Light includes figures from FPL-NW Division starting in 2022, when the company absorbed Gulf Power Company). The figures for municipal utilities and nonprofit cooperatives are the median bill amounts.
