Incoming Presidents' Day-One Advantage in Congress

The past six incoming presidencies have begun with party "trifectas", in which one party as control over the presidency, House, and Senate.

Senate advantages include the Vice President as a tiebreaker vote, as two presidents (Biden and Bush) relied on this vote in their early Senate majorities. House advantage for Trump (2025) is prospective based on current vote leads in remaining uncalled races as of 12/4/24, and does not account for likely appointments of sitting House members to Trump administration positions.
