Forty US airports expecting cuts in number of flights are among the busiest in the nation.

The 10% reduction in flights come as airports experience massive Air Traffic Control staffing issues due to the record-breaking government shutdown.

Number of passengers refers to "enplanements", or the number of commercial passengers who boarded a flight during the year. Each additional flight in a passengers' trip counts as a new enplanement. Weight refers to total cargo in lbs upon landing for non-passenger flights. Air Traffic Control staffing numbers are as of April 2025.
