In a tracking poll conducted in 2015, most respondents were way off when Kaiser Family Foundation pollsters asked them to estimate the share of federal spending that the government devotes to foreign aid. The correct answer is about 1%. Only 3% of those polled answered 0-1% and about half said it was more than 10%.
