NY bans trucks on Thruway, I-86 as snow looms

Starting at 3 p.m. Friday, NY is banning empty & tandem commercial vehicles from three roads: On I-86 between Pennsylvania and I-390 (near Avoca); on the NY Thruway (I-90) from Pennsylvania (near Ripley) to Buffalo and on Route 219 from Pennsylvania (near Tuna, PA) north to Buffalo.
