Minnesota's prison population per 100,000 residents

Since 1981, the number of people living in Minnesota's prisons has ballooned from 1,892 to almost 10,000. After factoring in the state's overall population growth, we still see a nearly 50 percent increase in the rate of prisoners since 2000.
