Three Houston-area suburbs are compared, showing similar levels of taxation between two incorporated cities and one "township." While The Woodlands residents pay less in direct city taxes, survey data shows this savings is offset by other taxes owed in their jurisdiction—such as MUDs. The township also carries a significantly smaller debt burden.
